You should be able to. I would hope so. I use Androzip and with that app you just long hold on the file and it gives you several options including the ability to delete something.
actually that was helpful...you hold down on a file and it doesn't give you "delete" (which I'd tried) but if you select "edit" then there is ANOTHER screen that will let you delete.
