Delete stock apps

As for Windows - years ago you had no browser choice. Everything needed IE. There was a shell program called Lite, or a hack that could disable IE.

If you ran no other MS programs, you never missed it.

Found an AV that ran on Winsock.dll. Same for other security features. Ran Corel and Adobe only. Maybe it was a misuse of Windows, but too bad. They didn't lose any money since I bought the OS. Computer was custom built generic, not brand name.

You ran and corel. Did you even remember when you install it that before it even installs, you have to accept terms and conditions. Same for the Telenav apps. For example, when you buy an HP laptop, it has Cyberlink programs pre installed which you need to accept the terms and conditions of.

So if you don't sign the agreement, what does it do? Just sit there inert, or track anyway? I have no intention of using Telnav.

I don't buy off the shelf computers. Laptops have been used, and wiped except for OS. Which means I can install Ubuntu instead of Windows. There is no warranty anyway. I've bought generic computers and had them accessorized to my specs. So if I upgrade, there are no extra installs. Since the tech knows the first thing I'll do is enable all my security stuff, I get no extras. I've cleaned off computers that had all the extra crap installed.

Both WP9 and Adobe come with custom installs. If the file is listed as uninstallable in custom - they are allowing me to use the program my way most of the time. You can still (at least up to Photoshop CS3, get around online registration. There's still fax and mail ways to register.

And I accepted conditions - I don't share or pirate. I figure I bought the OS and had the computer built, so it's nobody's business if I am not doing the above. Both tech and windows got paid. By NOT using apps, I am not cheating unless it's by denying extra data usage.

I feel it's like buying a top of the line embroidery/sewing machine combo. The dealer and company got their money and don't really care if I just straight stitch with it. Same for telescopes. I can buy one that will do everything for me, find stuff by built in goto telemetry, but no one cares if I use the scope manually.

Yes, it just sits there inert because its not activated since you did not accept conditions.

One question though, if you think that way about PCs, then the closest you can get is a Nexus device.

Thanks, that's what I wanted to know. Didn't like the Nexus I saw in person. Doesn't mean I won't get one eventually. I'm waiting to see what's coming next that I can really use especially with this stupid ATT/TMO nonsense. I want to stay GSM, and if ATT doesn't have what I want, it simply means a dumb talk and text phone and a wifi tablet.

It's not so much about permissions. It was said somewhere in this forum DO NOT REMOVE TELNAV. My question is, what's the difference if you don't use something by not registering or giving permission, and freezing it? Logically, it looks like if you don't agree, app doesn't run, so it's the same as not even having the app.
Maybe removing Telenav has a negative effect on other apps/functions of the phone??? Like me, I have Google maps on my phone, but that app also installs Latitude, Places and Navigation. I don't use the last 3 but if I were to remove Latitude, it would also remove Maps.

I did read post - but I still want to know if these apps are wallpapers.. ChocoEUkor 1.0 and there's another similar called Rose. Titanium does have a yellow triangle, but I've frozen some that made no difference, like Drive and Home from TMO.
Sorry to revive an oild thread, but at the time, it did not apply to me. I am now going through the preinstalled apps on my Galaxy Tab 10.1 and found ChocoEUKor et al. They are extra fonts, not wallpaper, which is probably why you did not see any difference after freezing. HTH!
