Delete widget history

This is my 1st android phone. Used to have iPhone.
My question is how do u delete the history from the Google widget?
I've tired numerous ways but still no luck.
I'm currently using master clean app which deletes my chrome history but nothing else.
All help gladly appreciated.

Open google search

menu button
settings
accounts and privacy
search engine storage
select google search
clear cache and data

You can get to this more directly
menu button
manage apps
all tab..

I use this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mobi.infolife.eraser&hl=en-GB which seems to work

I have tried your tips but I'm none the wiser 😣
I still have history showing.
I'm running a galaxy s5 and have gone through all the settings and downloaded your suggested link.
My browser is chrome if that makes any difference.

Did you turn off web history in the accounts and privacy page?

Yes that was switched off. I'll try and send screen shots of what I've done.

I'm sure I've tried all the possible ways to delete the history bit it still won't budge. Any more ideas?

I suspect you will have to do as I finally did.

On your PC, sign into Google and click on the top right corner logo that shows your Avatar, choose Account, then select:

Google+ settings
Edit settings


Also check the Menu tab for Security
Personal info

Security

Language

Data tools

Help

Under Security you can check Recent Activity and see what you have been doing. If something shows up there that "you did not do" a hacker has your account password.... change it fast.

Data Tools offers a lot of things you should look at and set up.

If you think you might 'expire someday' you should think about having your Google account deleted... I currently have mine set for 90 days. This means that if I have not used a Google Map or other Google signed in link, all of my stuff is deleted... I'm wondering if that should be made a trifle longer... but if I'm in a nursing home and don't have a clue what the internet is anymore then just maybe my trifling words should be exterminated.

All of this said, I have not found a way to clean out the Widget history from the settings pages. I was trying to help though..
