Help Deleted pics keep returning

I'm on an AT&T Note 4 (4.4.4) and I use the Google Photos app to manage my pics. I deleted a bunch of photos and after about a day, it keeps restoring back to the device. I tried deleting them from the stock gallery app, as well, and the same thing happens. I do have the G+ auto backup enabled. I guess I can try to turn off the backup and see if it deletes permanently.

Anyone else experience this issue? I can't seem to delete these photos.

I could be wrong but I think(?) photos is a cloud app linked to g+ and the pics in it aren't actually on the phone.
As i said though I could be wrong.
Try deleting them from gallery app and then phitos

Yep, funky's on it - Photos is essentially the Google+ pictures viewer (it'll disappear if you uninstall Google+). So its view shows stuff that's on your phone and what's already in The Cloud.

Deleting can be kind of tricky as a result... I *think* that deleting pictures through the standard Gallery app should effectively delete them from the phone itself. They'll still show up in the Photos app, though, since they're already backed up on Google's end. If that doesn't work, you can always use a file manager to clear them out of /sdcard/Pictures/DCIM or whatever :p

yep, thats the first thing I did was to delete it from the gallery app and then I deleted it from G+ as well. The pictures will stay deleted for about 24 hours and then returns.

I just tried to delete it while autobackup was off. We'll see if that works but it seems as though the delete funtion is a little flaky.

I don't know exactly what prompts it, but I've noticed on occasion that when I hit the Delete button within the Photos app I get a popup to the extent of "This action will delete the photo both locally and on G+."

I take it you've never seen that prompt?

I'll try to tinker with it tonight in an attempt to figure out what magic is needed for that. :D

Phew I was right for a change lol :thumbsupdroid:
Yeah I don't really understand the "magic" behind g+ pic backup.
I've read of people with the opposite problem, they delete a pic from their phone and the backup gets deleted (which defeats the purpose of backup lol) but I'm not sure if they were deleting from the Photos or Gallery app
