Deleteing E-mail

Zsnake

Newbie
At the end of the day, I have bunches of deleted E-mail messages in the trash file.

Is there any way to "one key" for clearing that folder? Like a "Delete all"?

Thanks in advance,

OK, Ya got me. I don't know. I receive both Comcast and MSN messages on this thing.

Does that answer your question?

I did NOT download an app to get my mail. It came with the thing.

Thanks for your response.

He's ask what is your email provider? Gmail? Yahoo? AOL?

Help us help you.

No that doesnt. I need to know what app you are using. If you click on the app called "gmail", then you are using the gmail app. If you click on the app called "Mail", then you are using the mail app.

You don't know what icon you click on to access email? Check the name under the icon next time. ;)

Uh, he said Comcast and MSN (you even quoted that).

The question was which email app, not which email provider.

I missed that, my bad. What you state above is what I was getting at. If she/he's using Gmail, I would think he/she pressing the gmail icon. If using one of the other providers he/she would be using the stock app, have individual mailboxes set up or using an app. Correct?

OK, OK, I'm a point and clicker. I'll go to the P&C meeting regularly.

You guys are just way above me in terminology.

I get my screen up and there is a picture (icon) of a letter with a note coming out of it. The note has a "@" sign on it. When I tap that, I get my mail. When I erase an E-mail, it goes into a "trash" folder. When I want to get rid of all my trash, I must tap each message in the trash folder and then hit "delete".

It would be really handy to hit something one time that erased all the trash at once. Like on a real desktop computer. "Empty Folder".

IS THERE?

To answer your question, Zsnake, no matter the app/widget, carrier or Android device you're using, there is no "one click email trash empty" method on the device.

You can go into menu > settings > applications > manage applications and click each email app/widget you use (Gmail/Gmail storage, Yahoo, etc) and clear cache and data if you wish to instantly remove old emails, but you'll also have to reconfigure those apps/widgets you do that to.

Most users just don't let them build up very far, knowing they'll have to spend some time removing them.

Gmail trash can be emptied online via your computer by simply going to that folder and emptying it. So can Yahoo Mail, MSN, etc.

Hokey-dokey....Now I'm getting somewhere.

Thanks EVERYBODY for putting up with me. I guess that the answer to the question you were all asking was Motorola/Droid/Verizon.

Anyway, talk about going around the barn to catch the pig. LOL

I'll just do it manually as I have been.

Again, Thanks everyone (Esp. Frisco) for trying to straighten me out.
