Deleting a contact

[NickleJim]

hi folks,
I have a Note, with Android version 2.3.6 on it.
I have many duplicate contacts on my phone. It's my fault, I have been fooling around with Settings, trying to figure out how to back up my contacts to the SD card.
Contacts is so messed up, I would like to erase all the contacts on the phone, and then download all my Google contacts back into the phone.
Also - do you have a favorite Android reference where I could find information like this? I was thinking a Dummy book.
I have Dummies books on Quickbooks, Bookkeeping, iphone 3 and 4, I like Dummies books.
Best,
NickleJim

I can't answer the first part off the top of my head, but I'll give it a hunt. As far as the second part (a Dummies book) it is not possible as there are so many different phones running Android that each have there own quirks. A place like this is the best place to learn about your phone.
