Help Deleting an E-Mail Address

Corey Bryant

Well-Known Member
I accidentally typed in an email address that does not exist. However, it still shows up on the unrooted Nexus 7 (4.X).

This email address is not associated with any contact whatsoever.

I am using the default GMail app for this. Is there a way to delete / remove this email address?

Thank you!

I am pretty sure if you go into your Settings > Accounts & Sync > Remove false account it should delete it from the Gmail app...

Otherwise, from within the Gmail app click on the account, then go down to Sync....turn it off and choose Remove account, then top right of that sync screen and remove it...

Hope this helps!

Hm, I think did not explain it properly.

When I find something that I want to send to myself, I usually send it to two emails:
crb@example.com
crbryant@llc.examplelab.com

When I type in in cr - crb@example.com comes up (as one of them). Then I type in cr and crbryant@llc.examplelab.com come up.

Now, right before I posted this question, crbryant@llc.example.com (invalid email) would come up. In Outlook, you could just use the down key and hit the delete key.

I don't know where the email address went - it had been in there for 3-4 weeks.

Hopefully though I explained it a bit better and just in case it comes back.......

Thanks!!

Go into your contacts on the desktop version of Gmail. There's a section there (I forgot the name) where you can delete the bad address.
