deleting emails

Can someone help? I can delete emails from my inbox then they go to trash and all mail sections. When i try to delete them from here they just reappear again. Much appreciated

I'd like to add a little to this if you don't mind m8
I got 4000+ emails in my inbox and want to delete most not all of them it will only let me do this one at a time which is just not gonna happen is there any way of multi deleting them ?

You could try a third party app for your emails, K-9 or Maildroid are good and offer a select all option and you can then unselect the ones you want to keep. Doesn't however help you at present.

Can you delete them online, don't know whether you are deleting from your server as you download. If you can delete them online and keep the ones you want there then you could just clear your data from the Email app to clear it all, but that is a bit of a blunt tool for the job if you know what I mean.

I have come here looking for this answer. I cant find anything on the web. I can't believe even after the last big update they don't have an option to delete a whole inbox like you can with a message list in Messaging (SMS).

i notice if you 'check' a few you have the option to "uncheck all" - ok that is intuitive. So why did they not add the ability to "check all" im not going to go and check off 400 emails. Are they insane?

a bigger question is that why are only 5 ppl attempting to manage our email properly. What is everyone else doing, just letting it pile up? idiots.

Looks like mailDroid is ad supported (for free version) I will try the open sourced K-9 and report back how it works. I have 3 accounts i need to set up again. I am not impressed that sony has produced such shitty app's for daily use like messaging, music player and email client that we must go and download 3rd party apps. Apple is better then sony.

What's wrong with the Select All function? Just use that and then, deselect the ones you want to keep and you're good to go. (assuming you're using the default Email app, with the GMail one, you have to go one at at a time)
