Help Deleting files completely

Lurker
I'd like to remove some files from my phone to free up space. They are located in the following directory: sdcard/.Trashes/502

Does anyone know how I can empty this ".Trashes" or "502" folder?

FYI...I connect to a Mac running OS X 10.6.8. There are no files in the Mac's Trash when I mount the sd card to my Mac.

Well, the .trash directory seems to be a 'trash-bin' for unix operating systems. If you delete this file (sometimes hitting Shift+Del will do this - depending on OS) it should all be gone.

If you really want to remove a file, you should delete it, then rewrite over the file to ensure no fragments are left. Doing full formats are always nice too.

A "Delete" should do what you want.

Or, alternatively something similar to this
Code:
cd /path/to/SDcard/
rm -r .Trash
