Deleting Google+

Is there a way I can delete (or if that's impossible, permanently disable) Google+ without affecting my contacts, calendar, drive, hangouts, or deleting my Google account, etc?

I have no desire to use any social media and don't even try to talk me into using it. I tried doing this before and deleted most content on it.

I will even give up commenting on YouTube videos and things in the play store if necessary.

I hate the whole thing and don't want circles or any other part of it. I want it gone.
Google is acting like crApple when they make everyone with a Google account have Google+. I would go to crApple to spite them but I hate them even more.

No need to root or anything. Just log into your Google account with a browser and you can delete Google+ membership in account settings without affecting contacts, calendar, etc.
