Help deleting old back-ups?

funkylogik

share the love peeps ;)
my sd card is full of crap :-)
whats easyest way to find+delete old rom backups (without a pc)?
do i use a file explorer or clockwork? and where will the files be located/what will they be called?
thanx :-)

If you've ROM Manager, there's an option to delete your old backups in that.

It's the manage and restore backups option (although I'm not sure it's there in the free version though).

Alternatively, they backups are stored in SD Card\clockworkmod\backups.

Careful what you delete though! :p

Hi funky........

No, don't use ClockworkMod Recovery......

Here is a really good guide for CMR, which explains all the functions in detail:

What Is ClockworkMod Recovery And How To Use It On Android [Complete Guide]

I presume you are talking about Nandroid Backups made with CMR?

Or even, via ROM Manager

If so, you can use something like ES File Explorer...linked.

Just a piccy for you from my phone, showing several Nandroid Backups, which are in: /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup folder.

ES File Explorer showing ClockworkMod Backup Folders

Backups are in: yyyy-mm-dd.hh.mm.ss format e.g 2011-08-08.17.08.17....which is the exact Year/Month/Day/Time when the abckup was made.

This is the default, which makes it easy to identify the backup Folder(s) which can safely be deleted.......

To delete in ES, simply long-press on the backup folder you want to delete, you will be offered a menu of Operations, like Cut/Copy/Rename....Delete, etc

choose Delete......

You will get a confirmation pop-up, tap OK or Cancel, according to what you want to do.......

Hope this helps :)
