Help deleting sensitive passwords from web applications?

Ian F

Lurker
I have a Motorola G phone which I generally do not use for any sensitive business (bank accounts etc.) . I normally use my laptop for such things. However, I did use the phone once to check my bank account balance - using the web login, not the bank app - and now I find that the phone has stored my username and password so that this is visible whenever I go to the bank login page on the phone. I consider this to be a security risk as anyone using this phone would have immediate access to these details.

My question: How can I delete my bank username and password from the phone? I have tried various things but they still persist and are there next time I look at the login page

Ah..................... simple as that! OK, thanks, I will give it a try. My only excuse is that when using the phone the browser is "invisible" so I never even thought of this solution. Chrome I guess?

Also keep in mind ser name logins/passwords are not saved in the app caches on your phone. You need to go into Application manager, find the app in question, tap the 'Force stop' button and then most importantly, the 'Clear data' button. Clearing the cache only wipes the temp files and other non-vital miscellaneous things an app uses.

Dead right svim, thanks! Clearing cache and history did not work, but after a long convoluted search through the Chrome settings your actions seemed to have done the trick. Much obliged,

IanF.

Probably the best thing to do is log in on your laptop and if there's any kind of option to log out any other logins on other devices to log them out, then change your password.

Thanks again svim, all seems fine now but I'll take note of your additional advice for any future issues,

IanF
