I just wanted to say that I was fet up with the lag on my Hero for the past several months. I have owned this phone for about 6 - 7 months now. I decided to delete the text message thread between my wife and I that goes back to day one of my ownership. Doing this alone helped the lag big time. As a matter of fact, there has been no lag for the past few minutes.
If you have an exclamation icon in text messages beside someones name make sure to delete the thread. I am sure it will help if you delete old ones, too.
