Desire, bluetooth music, why automatic?

Hi all
I've got a Desire (2.1) and use it with Bluetooth inmy car for calls and satnav directions.
Trouble is, every time I turn bluetooth audio on in the car, the music player on the Desire starts playing files. I press "pause" and it starts again a few seconds later. If I quite the music player, it starts again as soon as I try to listen to a satnav direction.
Can this be stopped? I don't use (or want to use) the phone as a media player.

Seems to affect both standard music app and Mixzing.

I think its your car radio is doing it. I've never had a problem with Bluetooth automatically playing music.

Although, I have heard of Android doing this too. So I have no idea what could be causing it.
