Help Desire HD headset volume

Morning all
Could someone pleeeeaaaassseeeee help me , I have a Desire HD, the headset volume is so low, I have tried everything I can think of , I have downloaded doubletwist, winamp, power amp, volume+ , nothing seems to work, my sons Desire (NOT HD) has massive volume compared to mine.
Anyone got any ideas ?
I have upgraded to GINGERBREAD recently , but didnt try the volume before that, so not sure if it was better before then or not.
Anyone plllleeeaassssssseeeeeeee !!!

My dhd is extremely loud through the headphones, almost to the point of it hurting my ears.

Just read all yours, yea , seems same problem , I have downloaded that VOLUME+ before, dosnt make much difference.

We need to find out what is different about yours to ours then ?

Or do you have sensitive ears lol ?

Mine's not too bad... I don't quite have bleeding ears, but it's not bad via headphones.

I am rooted though and have played with DSPManager, as I said in the other thread I linked!
