Root Desire i laggy when scrolling through screens

I am currenty on Alex v2.3 Sense basesd ROM with a few mods ...
I have taked it most part because i like the stock desire rom and needed A2SD+

Well even if this rom is overclocked with the kernel governor (and i tried interactive, on demand, smartass etc) the screen scroling in my launcher pro is still laggy after i unlock the screen. Only after a few seconds the screens apear to scroll smoother.

I was thinking maybe should i check a rom without senseUI since i like to use launcher pro.

Did someone use sense an passed to a NON sense ROM?? did you feel any differences??

non sense roms are ALOT faster. I had been using LPP on leedroid until recently, then switched to defrost then ginger villain rom, and the speed increase is amazing.

I had this problem too. I think it was due to having over 150mb of apps stored on my EXT partition. I think this might be the cause of your lag too.

i have no more then 60 user apps installed, i use a2sd+ with a 512 mb EXT patition on my 4 gb class 4 microSD card so i dont think this is the problem

Wich version of Ginger Villain you are using right now, is it gingerbread or Froyo, how i heard some apps are not runnig on gingerbread.

Its gingerbread 2.3

There will be apps that are not running (A couple of navigation apps I have heard of - TurboHobbit is a man in the know.) but out of my 99 apps, they all seem to work.

Accely i have a navigation app called Navitel and i think it wont work, but i use it pretty offen, then i should go for another rom.
Defrost is on Froyo???

Yeah defrost is froyo. IMHO its the best froyo rom out there. Get 6.1 though, not 6.1a

Well i like this ROM, its fast, its stable, except the fing that i cant turn off the vibration when unlocking and i realy dont like the dialler and contacts apps, the sense ones were much beter.

Well i would like to try another ROMs, could you recomed me the best, fastest, stable sense ROM with A2SD+

If I have someone in contacts, predictive dialing takes longer anyway ;)

You can always install dialers from the market

Never understood predictive dialling.

Let's ring grant. Contact, grant, dial

Or

Let's ring grant. Phone, 0, 7, 7, er... 4, ah there he is, dial

i like it because i dont need to press the search button to find a contact, and with 1 hand its easyer to type in predictive keypad then in the regular

Sounds like it may be an effect of underclocking when the screen is off. Smartass certainly automatically drops to 254mhz when the screen is off and it can take a second or to to 'warm up' when you unlock. Make sure you don't underclock below this speed or it can cause problems.

You could try SetCPU to set the underclocking to a higher value when the screen is off.

there's always one Lecter, lol!, seriously i would like to see it. Was thinking of flashing that rom myself, but kinda got bored of sense. Might flash it in the future if i keep hearing good things about it. Lovin GV at the mo.

Well after moving from one rom to other, sense or NoN sense i decided that defrost 6.1 is what i like and since i like the sense dialer i found an app (Youlu Address Book) that can replace it for me. Its not the best but its ok.

'Ello Solosaniok.

I've been using DeFroST 6.1 (Froyo ROM) which has been superb. Fast, clean, well constructed... Nav-wise I use Endomondo for my running and CoPilot 8 for car satnav. Both have worked very well on DeFroST. I then moved over to GingerVillain (0.8 and then 0.9) and liked what I saw - it's a fair bit like DeFroST largely because it's constructed by the same fella - but I was having problems with my nav programmes. Basically, I found that both kept dropping the GPS lock. Endomondo was recording me doing runs several miles shorter than I had actually covered (and the map depiction of where I had gone even had me running in a straight line THROUGH Clarance House - and I'm fairly sure even with my bad memory the lack of bullet holes proves that I didn't stop and say g'day to Prince Charles on my lunchtime run) and CoPilot couldn't map me a decent route because of the lack of lock; I tested this on a route I know and the software froze, rescanned, froze, started again, froze some more...

Regarding Endomondo, one of the other fellas on here has been using it on GV without problem, but I'm not sure... I reverted back to DeFroST and the programme ran just fine and dandy. I'm going to use it again today and then maybe flash GV 1.2 and use it again for a bit to see if there have been any improvements. I just can't see this DeFroST good / GV bad performance as coincidence. Regarding CoPilot, there is a definate issue there. I have had repeated e-conversations with CoPilot support how have been about as much use as the proverbial chocolate teapot. The long and short of it is CoPilot won't be officially supporting Gingerbread until HTC officially roll the upgrade out for Desires which is bullshit, but there you go (if you seach for CoPilot and Turbohobbit you'll be able to see the whole sorry story).

Best thing I can suggest is that you flash GV 1.2, use your nav software a few times on routes you don't need the software for (journies home, to local shopping centres, etc) to see what happens. If you get a good result then great, if not then I can highly recommend DeFroST 6.1.

Hey man thanks for the post!
Now my Desire is running Derfost 6.1 and i realy like this ROM.
I didn't try GV yet, but i think i will give it chance maybe my Navitel will run on it.
