Desire in the US?

I know there's no official release date for the Desire in the US. I am, however, traveling to the UK in May, and I was wondering how well it would work if I bought one in the UK and brought it back and used it on AT&T.

Also, I don't know how that VAT thing works for non-UK citizens. Do you think there would be any in the duty free shops?

Everything would work but 3G.

As for the VAT thing, I think you can claim it back as long as you're not a EU passport holder. Just remember to keep your bills and everything. Can't give you more info as I'm British and can't claim it back...
