Help Desire not bricked but.......

Hi

Strange occurrence today. Turned on phone--nothing. Reset battery and it booted fine, but after awhile (when the screen timed out) it went back to black. When I turn it on it goes to dark blue (BSOD?) but nothing else happens, however as soon as I reset the battery, it will boot successfully and as long as the screen is on, the apps seem to work etc. As soon as I lose the screen, I lose the phone again. Volume down followed by power switch brings up the same BSOD.

The lcd is on and the phone is apparently charging regardless.

Can anyone help get me back in business?

Uninstall the last couple of apps you installed. If it still happens, download my backup pro free trial and backup everything. Don't backup contacts or calendar if you use Google to store. Also install sms backup+ to backup sms to gmail...

Then do a factory reset... see if it re occurs

After removing/replacing the battery 4 or 5 times and keeping the screen awake for a couple hours last night, it seemed to fix itself. Worked fine all day today but then a half hour ago, same symptoms.

Will back up as you suggest but holding off on the factory reset for another day or so.

Not really. Seen apps do all sorts of things, like preventing home button working and what not.... ususlly just a bad app is the culprit
