Help Desire S can't start up properly

ltnt

Lurker
A cousin of mine was downloading a BeyBlade game from the Android Market.
As it reached 100% download, my phone froze. I couldn't use the touch screen. I couldn't turn it off using the off button and then the screen just blacked out. I also couldn't turn it back on.

I then decided to pull out the battery and tried turning my phone on again. It started up as usual. The download would resume itself a minute after starting up, and reach 100% download again and freeze, black out and just die.

As I turned it on again and again, I ended the market app, I tried ending a lot of my background apps to lessen the lag on my phone. I tried to cancel the download also, but the download can't be cancelled and it would freeze before I got to the cancelling page. Everything I tried above has the same result. Freezes, unresponsive, screen blacks out and the phone can't be turned on unless the battery has been removed.

How can I stop the download from resuming every single time I turn on my phone or is there another alternative?

Thanks ahead for the help! :D

You could try clearing the data/cache in Download Manager, Market and MarketUpdater in Menu > Settings > Applications > Manage application > All.
