Desire X

Been looking at possibly buying this once it comes out. I know it's only powered by a dual core but unlike its big brother the HTC ONE X this has a SD card slot and removable battery once the back cover is clipped off. I always thought this was a big mistake by HTC not to include this on the ONE series phones.

I saw this and thought it'd be as good upgrade for the wife (from her Wildfire S). See here for details ... HTC Desire X hands-on (video) -- Engadget ... but it seems that it's actually running a very old Snapdragon processor, the MSM8255. See here .... Snapdragon (system on chip) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia ...

So, over 2 years old and running a graphics chip at least 2 generations out of date. Think I'll pass on this.

NB: though, of course, Engadget may have got the CPU details wrong .... but they say the same here ... HTC Desire X specs ... and the HTCD site only says 1GHz dual-core ....

Plus looking around at review sites it looks like Jellybean isn't 100% certain that the Desire X will get it. In reality the Desire X should be (going by it past models) a big player but not in this case. Maybe like others it looks like a Samsung S3 is the way to go.;)
