Help Desire Z - HTC Sync won't detect microSD Card

I have an HTC Desire Z with a 16GB microSD card and Android 2.3.3 and am using HTC Sync ver. 3.0.5579 (latest version) and when I plug my phone into my computer and select the HTC Sync option, the phone shows up but I get that yellow triangle next to the build version in the top right corner and it says it can't mount/unmount the SD card, also none of the SD cards stats show up, like how much space is available, how much space is being taken up by music, photos etc.

Please help, how can I fix this?
