Help "Desktop" mode in stock browser?

From the pull down menu at the top, there is a "view in desktop mode" checkbox (not sure of the exact wording). Unfortunately, I think you have to do this each time. I haven't found a way to make it stick.

I use dolphin HD, but it's fubar on ICS so far. I need to use that because I use the lastpass plugin, and it's only available on dolphin. So for now I'm using the default browser for non-auth sites and then the lastpass browser (which is garbage) for sites I have to authenticate to.
