Desktop view on the stock browser?

On my 3VO, I was always able to browse most websites in Desktop View. Seems like all the sites I used to be able to do that with will only let me browse the mobile site on my GS3. Is there a setting or something I can turn on and off that will let me open all sites in Desktop View by default?

When you are in the stock browser, press the menu button and check the box next to desktop view.
