Desperately seeking UP TO DATE beginner tutorial for Tasker

 I'm a total beginner to droids and tasker and I can not find an up to date tutorial for beginners for the life of me. If you go to the tasker wiki and a lot of other sites/forums that I have been to, the instructions assume a "context menu" with application, time, day, etc- will pop up at some point. This does not pop up anymore.

For example, from the wiki on making a battery status percentage widget:
Part Three - Create the Updater Context
1. Open Tasker.
2. Select new from the Context menu.
3. Select time.
4. De-Select the to: box and select the Repeat: box setting the frequency you wish to update the battery status.
5. Select Done.
6. On the screen that appears, select battery in the drop down list, then select done.
7. Click apply.

What context menu?? Either I'm insane or the most updated version doesn't look like this. I'm stuck now with an icon that does nothing because I can't execute part three. Thanks for your help!

There's a few solid tutorials on YouTube also. Sometimes with a techy piece of software watching how to use it is a lot easier than reading how to use it.

I had that problem with UCCW. First time I opened it my head imploded. It wasn't till I watched some videos on how to use it that it made more sense to me.

I'll just mention there is in-app help which is Very handy for many things, but i'm not sure whether it'll answer you're ui questions.
