Root Dev Community?

I'm seriously considering this phone within the next month. I like everything I have seen, except for the battery being locked in but I can get over that, and I will undoubtedly want to root this at some point.

I know this phone has just been released in the US, but I am curious to know if there is a dev community interested in making ROMs for this phone in a manner similar to the the Optimus V. Is there progress on a nice ICS rom or miui or a slimmed down senseUI?
 
Once i get another 100 pulled together im getting this phone. And will be doing cm9, miui, and a custom sense rom also. I got another great dev coming to this phone too.

I will be coming from the EXTREMELY active Optimus V/M/S community and would love to help test some stuff in the future.

I expect to have this phone within a few weeks. Hard to budget a new phone on the end of the month with rent coming up and all...

good news, got some money together from some awesome donators and will be picking it up today at local best buy


On a side note to the mods, would it be possible to figure out a way in the One V forum to distinguish between what is for the international One V and the VM version of the One V? I can almost bet the international RUU will flash to the VM One V and vice versa. Thanks
 
Great news!

Problem is that if your a USA customer, the phone has not made it to stores yet. Just got released on VM's website yesterday. Should be in stores in a few days to next week from the articles I've read.

some places have it already some dont. unfortuantly no stores within 50 miles have it in stock. 100 miles away they do...but not worth the drive

Hey that's an app idea right there. Create an app that will customize the theme for you... select your own font, font sizes, colors, etc... and the app does all the dirty work in the background!

The first step is getting a working cwm recovery for PrimoC. Until that happens, you can't even root it. Anyone here able to build one from source?

I have a fully working CWM recovery. Twrp is almost done too. Just ensuring it is good to go before I post online

As a side note you can root without recovery. Unlock then fastboot flash unsecure boot.img which will give shell in adb. Then just push Su and superuser.apk. that's how I rooted till I got recovery working
