Apps Developing Anti-Virus for Android

Hi all,

I'm new to Mobile Security and Android App Development. I'm trying to develop an anti-virus for android devices. This project is strictly educational.

Any suggestions on where to start and how to proceed for this?
Also, any site where I can find anti-virus or anti-malware signatures?

When I developed a PC antivirus I used the Comoro anti malware database, they update it by the thousands daily, however those are PC signatures, I would also be interested in android virus signatures.
