Help Device administrator app permission but no app installed

Hi,

I have recently looked into the apps that have the Device Administrator permission enabled on my device and found one that had it on. However, that app is not installed on my device and it never was. Looking at the Apps tab in Settings, it wasn't listed even with Show System Apps option enabled.
Does anybody know why an app that was never installed on a device might show up in the Device administrators tab?

Need to know what make, model, year of phone, Android version, and the name of the app in question
 
Sure. Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 with Android 7.0. The app showing up in the Device administrators tab is "Finding my Device"

EDIT: meant "Find my device"

Ok, I see. Though what I am confused about is that I am still able to install the actual Find my Device app from the Google Play Store. It has the exact same icon and name as the one that already has the Device administrator permission on.
 
Not all Android phones are pre installed with find my phone, that's why it's in the play store
 
Yes I understand, but why can I still click Install for Find My Device in the Play Store? Would that effectively make me have two Find My Device apps?
The thing is that I completely can't access the preinstalled find my device app, so I don't get the point of giving it device administrator permission. I would have to install another copy of the exact same app from Play Store tok be able to actually access the app.
 
You don't need the app, as long as the app has admin permissions you can Google search find my device. Then press make device ring or look at the map to see where your phone is.

I use it alot as i lose everything.
