Help Device Storage problem and Message Customisation

Hi

1st question:

I noticed the past few times I tried to update my apps via the Play Store, it said I didn't have enough memory for some of them.
So I uninstalled some of the apps that I don't really care about. Still had the problem yesterday when trying to update another app and uninstalled a few more.
I checked the Storage in Settings and it showed that Apps were taking up ALOT of space. So I uninstalled everything that I don't use at all, and disabled most of the apps that came on the phone, so I now have 3 pages of apps. The Storage didn't seem to change. Applications take up 2.93GB which is over half of my device memory.
I checked my friend's phone Storage as she has the S2 and has way more apps and widgets than me and they only take up a tiny amount of storage.
Is there something I am missing here?

2nd question:

I usually have my phone set to hear only calls, and every other alert is silent. Just personal preference. But is there a way to set it so that I hear a text message from a specific person?

1) She probably has her apps moved to the SD card. There are apps that will do that for you. Remember that pictures, music and videos also take up storage - probably more than apps.

2) If you set that person's contact info to a different ringtone, that's what you should get for that contact.

She doesn't have an SD card, I don't think. I didn't even know you could do that.

My apps are taking up over half of storage. Everything else including pictures, music etc combined takes up maybe a quarter.

Please can you recommend a good app to transfer apps to SD card?

Also, I know how to change the message tone for a specific person but is there anyway I can set it so I only hear this one person's message when my notification volume is off? Sorry if this sounds odd

Another thing, I noticed that it is Google Play Music taking up alot of the space...
