Root DIAG mode?

Why do you even need to go into it? I don't know much about this phone, since my gf owns it not me, but DIAG isn't used for very much at all.
 
although i can say on other forums with no problems, i'm not sure of this forum's policies. what i will say is that all that you have to do to get into diag mode is to power the phone down and connect usb
