Dialer Replacement?

[trparky]

What are some good dialer replacement apps?

I heard some great things about Takephone. I used it back in the old Palm days on my Treo, it was brilliant. I haven't tried the Android version yet, because there is no free trial, and I never buy if I can't try first.

I use dialer one.

GoDialer EX (a part of the GoContacts EX app) is fantastic. It's three apps in one: Dial, Contacts and Favorites.

I use dialer one.

Me too, really like it.

Touchpal dialer has also a contact app integrated and is nice too

GoDialer EX (a part of the GoContacts EX app) is fantastic. It's three apps in one: Dial, Contacts and Favorites.

I tried Go Contacts Ex but when starting it up it shows only 4 of my 250 contacts, and 1 of about 30 favorite contacts. Do i have to do something to import the contacts? This should be automatically i guess, with Touchpro dialer all my contacts showed up from the beginning.

ContApps seems pretty packed with features:

Installed ContApps and it is really very neat and handy. All my contacts showed up from the start, not as Go Contacts where only 4 contacts showed up.

Rocket Dialer looks promising but I can't find a web site for the developer. I went to the page on the Android Market that lists all of the apps that the developer made and clicked on the developer's web site but it took me to an invalid URL. Instant turnoff.

So where do I send in suggestions? Support questions?

Yes, Rocket Dialer does look promising according to the others that people have mentioned but there is one thing that annoys me about the app. The favorites list of numbers, I don't want pictures; I just want the names of the people on my favorites list. Most of the contacts I have in my contact list have no pictures so showing a blank picture is completely useless to me.

I'd like to tell this to the developer but again, I can't find a way to do so.

I have tried Rocket Dialer, Dialer One and aTakephone. I was a big supporter of aTakephone but the development of it has been very slow. I recently moved to Rocket Dialer and I like it the best now but you are right about the favorites screen. I don't mind the pictures, just make them smaller.

The other thing that I can't figure out is how to use the T9 to search in the company field. I don't think it's possible but it says in the description that you can.

Used Contapps for a while, decent but not Great.
Then had the "phone icon disappears from HTC lock screen" issue (which android 2.3.4 did NOT fix ), got pointed to Touchpal, am very impressed with it's easy operation, clean elegant look, long custom settings list. It has proud poll position on my Sense lock screen, could do with more than 2 themes later I guess.
