Help Dialer

When I had my DHD, on the dialer I could tap in letters which would then search the address book. On the default dialer on the Nexus, it doesn't seem to work.

Anyone know of any options? I've just downloaded exdialer but not sure how I can make it the default. When I hit the phone icon in the doc, it just fires up the stock dialer

If you go to the contacts tab and start typing the number, the related contacts will show up.

Not ideal, but it does work.

I started using Dialer One. To use it instead of the stock dialer you have start from it. I just replaced the blue phone icon with the one from the app drawer for the dialer I want to use. I assume the process is the same for ex dialer.

I was able to follow, but for anyone who couldn't, the short version is just replace the default Phone icon with the app of your choice. I'm also using Dialer One with no problem.
