Help Dialing Issue with Plus Sign

I'm having a phone dialer issue. My corporate email system prepends all telephone numbers in the directory with the plus sign since we are an international company. When attempting to dial the number with the plus sign it fails. If I remove the plus sign it works ok. Corporate is not willing to change the corporate directory since it would break other integration. Any one have any ideas how to make the phone either ignore or parse out the plus sign?

I have a droid 2 global. In fact 3 of them and they all have the same issue. Is yours the global? I did contact verizon about the issue also, they don't have a work around. I've been dialing the number from the directory, letting it fail then I can edit the plus out to dial. It is ugly workaround. Verizon told me they are getting a lot of complaints about the issue and also with Blackberry version 6 that has the same issue.

What is your version of code?
