Help Did Android block recording calls?

I used to be able to record calls without any problem on my Jelly Bean version. Now I have a new phone, and it doesn't record the other person's voice. I've given every permission to the app/apps (I've tried about 10 of them) and it still doesn't work. They do record my voice, using the mic. However, not the other person's voice.

And in Play Store one of the comments was like this :

Help, it's not working on my GM5 Plus Nougat!
-Hello. We're sorry but they have blocked this feature so there is no way we can provide you this recording service.

Is this with all of the Android Nougats? Or is it just my phone? (It's Android One by the way)

I know that it's illegal IF the other person doesn't know or allow you to do that. But most of the times I speak to my friends and just like WhatsApp and SMS messages, they are a memory after all. So call recording is something that I really need.
Is there a way to enable that feature? (Preferably without rooting, but if it must require root, I shall root then...)
Thank you!

I don't think it's actually Android itself that blocks call recording. However certain manufacturers will do it though, usually to comply with telephony device approval and/or privacy laws for whatever country you're in.

Have you tried Call Recorder Pro? I believe that's often recommended on here.

I'm in China, and we do have Nougat phones that do call recording as standard, a built-in feature. So it's definitely not all Nougat devices. :)

If there are Nougat devices that can record calls, then it must be my phone. Damn. Do you know how I can get around this?

Call Recorder Pro possibly. As for rooting and hacking Nougat, that could be difficult, maybe impossible. Unless you got a Nexus or Pixel device I believe. That was one of the design intentions of Marshmallow and Nougat by Google, that they be hardened against rooting. Especially one-click app security exploit roots.

Oh boy, Google is starting to become more like Apple everyday. Why do they make it harder to root anyway? By the way, is "Call Recorder Pro" an app? Because I don't think that this app is gonna help me. It's systematical.

Why is call recording a good idea? J/C...

Why do people keep their messages, photos, videos or anything at all? Sometimes I go and have a legendary 2 hour long conversation with my friend and about 1 year later that becomes a memory. So, that's the reason.

Time for a new phone...?
...but it's been only 2 days since I got my new phone?

Yeh it's an app. It's been recommended here on AF quite a few times. Never tried it myself though, no need.

I'm sure the idea of hardening Android against rooting, is for security against malicious apps and games that can sneakily root a device and plant malware in system, without the user even knowing. If you want a device that can be rooted and modified easily, Google does the Nexus and Pixel devices of course.

There have been several reports of that happening here. User sideloads a pirated version of Pokémon Go or something they downloaded from somewhere, phone gets rooted by the malicious payload, damages the firmware, puts ads or spyware in, or bricks the thing, and they sometimes end up having to buy a new phone as a result.

Oh that makes sense then.
Well it's 12₺ (turkish liras) and I'm %60 percent sure that it won't work because I've used the same app's free version. The pro version only adds some features + removes adds etc. Thanks for trying though.

oh yes, it is, you didn't try the link?

i have used it for years because i have no short term memory after a bad accident.
it worked all the way thru 6.0 for me. get the license or it won't work on some features.

Call Recorder Free - ACR - Android Apps on Google Play
Call Recorder License Pro - ACR - Android Apps on Google Play

It worked for you because probably your device doesn't block that feature. I don't think that it's gonna change anything. So I don't want to lose 12₺ over nothhnig :D
