Root Did anyone find an answer to N7 ..charging, computer, updating

About 3 months ago I did a bunch of looking around for an answer to my problem and while I found a number of posts about those having similar issues, the fixes suggested did not work on my N7. Since then I have been living with it....but it is a PTA.

N7 is unlocked and rooted
After using in the car (after having done so dozens of times before) it quit charging or so I thought.

Now
Will not install OTA update that it keeps saying I need to install. It goes half way and hangs up.
Will not charge at all unless I turn the N7 off and then plug into charger...(Yes, the N7 original charger)
Will not be recognized by any computer via a USB in order to unroot.

I of course can not return to Asus as I rooted it.....

Any one ever come up with a solution?

Download 4.3 upgrade via: http://androidforums.com/nexus-7-all-things-root/578237-factory-image-nexus-7-a.html

Make sure you have the lastest recovery installed.
Boot into recovery, create a backup, factory reset and flash 4.3.

Cross your fingers and hope it helps.

When you say download from that link, I assume you mean download it directly to the N7? As I can't get a computer to "see" it....
How do I check that I have latest recovery? and how do I
oh, heck, just how do I do all you listed....
Sorry....
The only way I rooted was watching a video how to and doing it step by step....

You can do it all from here: The Nexus Root Toolkit

Install the program on your computer and follow the directions to return to stock. No need to wipe the sdcard or lock your device, just return to stock. You will lose your settings and app data, but Play Store will still have your apps and should offer to download them again.

Unfortunately I have already tried this. I installed the toolkit on my desktop, but when I plug the N7 into the computer....the computer does not recognize it....
