Root Did I bricked my phone?

I was on CM10.1 M2 and wanted to have V8. I tried restoring to V8 via cab method, but my phone would not go in download mode. So I thought I would flash to one of the ICS rom to see if that fixes my download mode. I wiped cache and data and formatted the /system folder in CWM. Accidentally, I hit reboot system.

My phone rebooted, but there was no OS on it. Now I can't get it to go back in CWM (vol dn +power). It reboots, goes to LG logo and nothing happens. The phone still does not go in download mode.

I could use any help, please, I am worried that I bricked my phone...

Double check that you are using the correct method to get into Download mode. It should be as follows.

Pull battery
Pull SD card (safety precaution)
Replace battery
Hold down Vol+ and Vol- then insert a USB cable that has power (either from a PC or a wall charger)
Hold down buttons until phone boots into download mode.

Continue with re-flashing your phone.

That's exactly I am doing. It used to work with any cable before (I did it numerous times before), now it doesn't work with anyone. As if it does not recognize the vol+ and vol- pressed together at all. Will a USB jig work? I can even try adb although I have no knowledge of it.

I don't know that a USB jig would work. If it's not going in to download mode, it's possible that you have a short in one of your volume buttons. Being as you said that vol - and power doesn't get you into CWM, i'm going to guess that it is that one. Your best bet at this point is to keep trying holding vol - and power and hoping to get back into CWM. At some point, the short may give you enough contact to let you in.

Thanks Neph. You might be correct, since a long time I have used "reboot recovery" for all my needs and not the button combo. I just want to make sure that even though I don't have a system installed, the vol- pwr combo will still take me back to CWM. Is there any way pc (windows or linux) will recognize the phone to let me flash?

My phone is pretty much mine, as Verizon will not replace it due to "Moisture Indicator" turning pink, so I can do anything with it...

I got it to work after a day and half of desperation. I reinstalled adb and Verizon drivers on my windows PC. After connecting to PC and turning the phone on, My phone showed up as "LG Electronics/unknown device". The device won't automatically install. So I finally chose "have disc" and selected VZW ADB device. It installed instantly and adb was able to find my phone. I rebooted in recovery by ADB command and installed official CM 10.1

Thank you much Neph. I couldn't get phone to get recognized in the LG Support Tool. So I flashed "Spectrum OTA ICS debloated ROM v1.1" by Micromod. This recognized the phone, the LG support tool restored my phone. I am now completely stock zv8. I think the CM 10.1 does not allow "Internet connection via ethernet", which what is necessary for the phone to be recognized by the LG tool.
