Root Did I root my Epic or what?

kuhne

Newbie
Im new at this so sorry for my newbiness but I downloaded a one click exploit 2.5.5 thingie and ran it and everything seemed to fail for a few tries until i realised i had to keep the phone connected for a while even if the command promt screen froze for a while, so I left it there and it started downloading something to my phone and it rebooted itself.

After that everything was the same and I found no app called "super permissions" in the app tray, I thought I was supposed to have it there.

But then I download an app called Wifi tethering or something, which the android market specificaly says needs root access, and the app works fine on my phone, it asked me for super permissions and I clicked "Allow" and it works fine.

So am I rooted? or half rooted? whats up!

Thanks!

Sounds to me like you are rooted.

If you power off the phone and press and hold the volume down key, the camera button AND the power button, what happens? What color are the words on the screen?

Moved to root forum BTW

What color = rooted?
What color = not rooted?

Thanks, let me check it out and I will get back to you.

Am I supposed to have a new app in the app tray though? Cos I don't see anything new.

Sorry for posting in wrong forum

You should have the super user app in the app drawer, but if it's asking and allowing permissions I wouldn't complain.

No worries. :)
