Did you get the Galaxy Ace update yet?

I subscribed to a Samsung Galaxy Ace on Saturday and updated to 2.3 Gingerbread.

Strange that Klies does not recognise the Galaxy Ace in its 'which phone' drop down.

hi, regarding the latest kies version could you clarify my doubt?. the samsung india site has the kies version as 2.02.11071.128.

but the link you have given has it as 2.02.11071.128.2. which is original?.
and as i had mentioned earlier my ace is from singapore. is that why i am still stuck with GINGERBREAD 2.3.3?. Because i tried it just now and still get the message that i have the latest firmware GB 2.3.3. Series version PDA:KPN/PHONE:KP6/CSC:KP8(DBT).

You don't need to go thru any options in kies. It'll notify you once you connect your phone. If your phone is not detected, reinstall the kies after completely uninstalling the existing one. Make sure you're installing the recent version of kies. I've already given the link in one of my comments above. If you still didn't get any firmware upgrade notification, then it might not be rolled our in your country.

My phone is detected, but it says that it has latest firmware... Unfortunately.

Both are same, I think! It's just an external link as I searched in google.
Yes, as your phone is from Singapore, it might have stuck with GB 2.3.3. Galaxy ace's GB update started with 2.3.3 only worldwide. Since we got the update very lately in India, it came with 2.3.4.

thanks for the reply.originally my ace came with froyo.then i updated with kies on 31/08/11 to GB2.3.3 in india where i am.(i am indian).so is it possible i will get an upgrade when singapore gets it- to GB 2.3.4. sorry for asking again and again because i would like to use flash to view downloaded .flv videos which i think is possible with GB 2.3.4

Hello, i am new to this forum and this is my first post here,

now to the problem is, i am having is upgrading the firmware to 2.3.4 using kies,
i am from india friends, i got the message to upgrade to latest firmware yesterday on kies i.e on 5th of sept., when i tried it it got some error and it asked me to go for firmware emergency recovery
now this is what dat happens:

downloading file for firmware emergency recovery of gt-s5830
then it decrypts and decompresses the files
then 'GT-S5830 firmware emergency recovery in progress...
Do not disconnect your device from the PC.
0%
Then i get this message:

Notice
Firmware emergency recovery stopped due to GT-S5830 error.If the problem persists, please contact
the Samsung service centre

please help someone, i have tried it many times in recovery mode but its still giving the same message.


Firmware information
This version of the device
current firmware version:PDA:KC1/PHONE:KC1/CSC:KC1(INU)

phone is running 2.2.1 froyo

Hey guys I have a doubt!!
I went to a Samsung official service center and they said the update to gingerbread(official update) was available for my Ace. But they say that I cannot update because I bought the phone from UAE and it has the UAE version of android and I live in India. They say the phone will become dead if you update it with Indian firmware(or any other firmware other than UAE)!! Is this true? How can I update it then? PLS reply!

Don't try to update using Kies. Try to flash the appropriate firmware from Login - www.SamFirmware.com. You can search the forum for more details about flashing.
 
I am in India, Kies was not showing me the update. I connected my System to VPN (which gives me IP address of US) and as expected Kies showed me that a System Update is available. Now i am upgrading it, lets see what happens.
 
Ok, that seems to have worked. The trick is

1. Connect to VPN to get an IP address of US. (search on net for free vpn services)

2. Open Kies and it should show that update is available

3. I found that Kies was getting hung during the upgrade, so i disconnected my VPN and restarted Kies. It again showed the pop up for upgraded

4. Followed all the steps and now i am on Gingerbread.

I got the latest Kies, but unfortunatly when the upgrade start it stops, and then it gets stuck...

can some one helo... thought of flashing but there are many steps to follow and dont want to brick the phone since its new...!

My Laptop: Win 7, 64bit (Home), from SL
 
I just recently got my Samsung Galaxy Ace updated to 2.3.4 through Kies and it is an official update.

I'm in SE Asia, so countries within the area will receive the update as well. :)
 
i got officially updated yesterday with kies. but not able to connect market after that....
Think before upgrade....

I m in UK. I just updated my phone to 2.3.3, does that mean I will receive another update soon to go to 2.3.4?

Kies. (although it can be a bit rubbish) its the offical way and if any problems the warranty is still valid!
