Did you get the Galaxy Ace update yet?

Are these new Gingerbread firmwares branded with Operator software, or are they clean? If I flash my phone with Odin and say a "Russian" firmware, will my phone display be in Russian?

I'm in New Zealand, but my phone was imported from Europe. It it not branded with any operator logos. I have an update available in Kies, but it disconnects my phone and won't install it onto my phone.

This is the firmware available to me...

PDA:KPS/PHONE:/KP6/CSC : KP2 (GBL) I think this might be a Bulgarian firmware version, so my phone must have come from there...

Does anybody know where I can find the download for this so I can flash my phone with Odin?
 
In previous post the link is given for SEB official FW 2.3.3, it is made for Baltics region and default language there is English. It is completly fine and clean from operator programs and logos.
Later you just can change CSC code inside for SEB if you want.
Also the Kies recognizes it for update checking, so later there will be no problem to update it for newer FW, only thing that CSC code must be changed for SEB than, it unfortunately menas Factory reset of all settings in a phone.
 
Sorry, dude, I used Odin for my update, not Kies, cause my phone used to have German "DBT" 2.2.1 FW installed, and it still got no update... So I downloadad "SEB" 2.3.3 FW and installed it, now I have "SEB" (Baltics) on my phone, wich also suits my location (Estonia).
Can not help you with Kies, cause mine didn't show me any update.
 
I just received the PDA:KPK/PHONE:KP6/CSC:KP3 update. I really want the 2.3.4 update because I get a wi-fi error every 2nd time i start it, and the *#526# doesn't work all the time

*EDIT* forgot to mention: I'm from Romania

Yeah, sometimes I do this if I got wifi error. wifi then can successfully connect but after some time, phone reboots itself... :confused:
So I just reboot If I got wifi error.

Still waiting for gingerbread update to reach asia...:)
 
Samsung suck at updating firmware. Why the hell they update the non English version first? :confused: And this long for the update... 2.3.3 is not even the latest one. So I assume we get the 2.3.4 next year Like "The Dark Knight Rises"? :mad:
 
Just got a Galaxy Ace and am having problems with the phone so found this forum, but what is Gingerbread? and does anyone know how to stop the display from switching off when you are on a call?
 
Gingerbread is Android FW update v. 2.3, default veriso on Ace is 2.2 (Froyo)...
There was a settinb, if I'm not mistaken about screen turning off during call, check settings.

The screen turns off during a call because of the proximity sensor on the front of the phone. This is done to prevent your face from pushing buttons on the screen when in a call. (Happened sometimes on my old phone which didn't have this feature)
So if you move the phone away from your cheek during a call you'll notice the screen turns back on immediately if you need to push anything. :)
 
2.3.3 update for UK 3 network will be via KIES over next week or so. this was tweeted to me earlier by 3uk:


@ThreeUK: @pj***** Its been approved so you should get the update on Kies over the next week or so.
 
Just upgrade to 2.3.3 via KIES. Strange results in benchmarks, because all of them seems to run faster. And that shows game index in Smartbench 2011, but the rest of benches shows quite the opposite :confused:

Guys..DO i need to unroot my phone in order to update to latest firmware? Y my kies cnt detect the avaibility of my phone even though i hav connected it to my pc ? @@
