Difference between an Android Theme vs Launcher

Hello. I am new to Android and to Android Forums, as such please excuse my question if it seems ultra basic...

I honestly have been unable to find a specific answer in digging around though.

What is the difference between an Theme running on an android phone versus a Launcher?

I got the ROM difference between the 2 down, and I understand it for the most part but not these.

Basicly the launcher only affects the home screens and app drawer. If you mean a theme for like Cyanogen mod etc, it can change the look of everything, menus, statusbar, notification tray etc :thumbup:

I see. So a theme will run through the entire os. So essentially a launcher comes with a built-in theme that will only affect those areas you mentioned then? I think I understand it correctly.

Theres themes for most launchers too but yeah, theyl only affect home and app drawer mate :thumbup:
