Difference between GT-I9100 and I9100?

Hi, I have just bought a case and a windscreen mount off the internet for my SGS2, and noticed that it says it's for the I9100 model, but on the back of my box it says, GT-I9100... Is there any difference between the two?

I dont think there's any difference. The internet store you bought the case from may just have skipped writing the "GT" before I9100.

whats makes the phone different in terms of internal components and features, are the alphabets after the model number, e.g. i9100G.

Some alphabets are custom variants of the same phone for different network providers and/or countries with slight modifications to either hardware or software:
i9100P - Europe variant
i9100M - Canada Bell's variant
i9100T - Australian variant
