Differences between RAZR M and RAZR HD

Hey guys,

I'm up for an upgrade and looking to go back to a droid (have an iPhone now). I have it narrowed down to the RAZR M and the RAZR HD. My question is what are the differences? It seems like aside from aesthetics they're the same phone.

I can save $50 going with the M instead of the HD (no intention of getting the MAXX). I'm still leaning toward the HD just for looks, but am I getting anything better by spending the extra $50?

Thanks,

-Mike

I, too, contemplated both phones. Ultimately, I went with the HD. First, it has a larger screen; 4.7" vs 4.3" for the M. Second, it has more storage; 16GB vs 8 GB for the M. Trust me, you'll want that extra storage space, eventually. Finally, the HD has a better battery. Just as the MAXX has a better battery than the HD, the HD is better than the M. I honestly think the differences are worth the extra money. I don't think you'd be disappointed with the HD. It's been a great phone.

With the HD you are getting:

Much bigger battery
16GB internal memory vs. 4 GB memory
Bigger and better screen (also bigger overall physical size)

Also there are reports that the Razr M has reduced signal quality if you hold the phone in a normal manner (if you don't use a case). This does not happen with the Razr HD because the antenna is located in a different spot inside the case.

You'll probably have the phone for at least 18 months. I would think it would be worth $2.78 a month more to have the added features.

Thanks for the help guys.

Turns out my upgrade isn't til tomorrow so I wasted a trip up there. While I was there I held both phones and the HD was way too big for me. I know it has a few better features but the M is where I'm going to go.

Ironically, it's awesome that I couldn't buy one today since Verizon wants $50 for the M while I can get it from Best Buy for free haha. Best Buy still has the HD for the same $100, so now it becomes a $100 savings, and essentially negates all advantages the HD has.

Just to add....
We all have different needs, so we buy different devices.
After I got the Maxx HD with the 3300mah battery, there will be no device which has less than 3000mah battery that interests me.
Its a beautiful thing to be a moderate to heavy user and have the device unplugged for 16-18 hrs a day and plug it back in at nite with 20-50% battery left.
I'm just saying ......

Look around for online offers. I got my beautiful white RAZR HD for $49.99 upon contract renewal, but have seen the MAXX HD for $69.99. That said, IMHO the RAZR M for free is a great deal; I like the white M and would have gotten it were it not for the low price of the white HD. I do like the white HD better aesthetically (besides the larger battery), but the M is still an awesome device, you just add your old SD card to it and the storage problems are gone (plus the smaller screen will probably end up wasting less battery, so I imagine the smaller battery size isn't that much of a deal unless you play with your phone endlessly throughout the day without charging it.)
