So i'm a total noob to the world of rooting. I am sick and tired of the 'low memory error' on my incredible and want to root to get rid of the stock htc mail and other programs that are causing this. I'm seeing all different kinds of rooting, and am a little confused.

what do i do next? is it just done?
should I install a ROM?
I really want faster access to the camera (faster focus and picture snapping), does rooting help this?
I've heard mixed things about installing Gingerbread, if i wanted to, what's the next step after that guide??
