Root Different Carriers?

I was curious about the sim card tray inside the phone, is there a way to connect something like t-mobile with this phone or something or is there some sort of special carrier unlock process I have to follow., (Not sure if this is in the right forum, sorry if it is)

If you bought the phone from, say, AT&T, it will only work with an AT&T SIM. If you put in a TMobile SIM it'll ask you for the unlock code (which is keyed to the IMEI number of the phone, so it's different for each phone).

Then the question is whether the particular model has the right radios for TMobile.
