Help Different (or On/Off) notification for Txt, gmail, email etc

On i7500, is there a way of turning off or on notifications for

* Text Message
* GoogleMail
* Email (IMAP)
* Other

What I really want is a (configurable) notification sound for Txt messages, and different sound for gmail/email, and be able to turn all independently on/off.

I found the Generic Email (Menu->AccountSettings->EmailNotifications) which can turn this on/off, but not configure the sound.

Quite happy with the default, installed Txt app so can this be done without having to install other apps, if not, which apps will allow me to to do this.

Same was kinda asked in this thread, but no responses....yet....

Have you tried setting a different tone in the settings of the messaging app? It's in the settings under notification

No solution (I fear there isn't one), but I'm going to be keeping my eye on this thread.
It's nice to know when there's a new email or text message, but I don't need the ding when plugging the headphone or charging cable in or out ... I'm usually aware of that.
