Difficult to get back to home screen in play store

After browsing many apps, doing many searches, looking at apps, clicking on what other users have looked at etc, I find no easy way to get back to the home screen, or even to the menu that let's you access settings and my apps.

You have to click back on the top left many many times and back trace through all the screens you have visited. In fact o found it easier to force stop play store and restart it to get to the home screen.

What have I missed? Is there an easy way?

Welcome to Android Forums.

(a) If at the top left on the screen there are three lines ... touch them and a menu appears. Select Store home.
(b) If at the top left on the screen there is a less than symbol ... touch it and it will go back one level. When you see the three lines do (a).

Swipe left to right ... a menu appears ... select Store home.

Yes, but that is the problem, it takes so many presses of the go back less than sign it becomes annoying. I could be dozens of pages deep. As I said easier to kill the app, and restart it. They need a direct way to get back to the three line menu.

Google hates the three line/dot menu. thankfully i never use Google Play so i don't need to worry. at least Samsung and Amazon respect the menu button :)

Google is trying to go all BlackBerry 10 on us. they are doing everything with gestures now, but sadly like RIM did with BlackBerry 10, they never TELL you what the gesture IS, or what it does! it's a neat feature, but i just prefer my hardware button as it saves me from that nasty oily swipe on my screen that gesture control results in. also why i prefer my voice unlock command over the unlock swipe mark.
