Difficulty with vtext

When someone uses email to send me a text 1234567890 @vtext.com, I typically get it just fine, but responding to that via the Messages app is very buggy. I'll get 3+ "SMS Error" notifications before I can successfully reply. It's easier to reply from Messages, but I might have to use Mail instead.

Anyone know if there's anything I can do?
 
I definitely have very similar issues.. I use Handcent, but strange things happen when I get msgs via vtext and same when I reply...

ie bizarre reply numbers, duplicates, and goofy crap.. WEIRD.
