Help diffrent boot up and shut down since update

has anyone else noticed since the update that when turning fone off it makes a noise and trackball flashes, and when booting up it doesnt make the noise it used too?

yup - same here - when I switch off it makes a notification sound and the trackball flashes, and when I turn on it no longer gives me the notification sound for preparing sd card. not sure of the logic of that, but not concerned either.

strange thing, i tried again and it makes the noise when turning on aswell as off. the first time i turned off after update i had to take battery out as it wouldnt turn on.

Before the update I would turn on the phone and it would not notify me "preparing sd card". Now it always does. Which one is normal?

Both and neither.

Google just changed the way it does it, it'll always prep the SD card on boot, so you don't need to be beeped at each time.
