Help digital camera to 10.1

Newbie
Hello,
I connected my digital camera to the 10.1, despite the fact it opened in gallery I couldn't figure how to copy them across. More luck with the reader , they were definitely copied I've searched in all my files and they are no where to be found, can anyone caste any light please ? Do I need to download some app to deal with it? I'm an Android newbie and your help would be most appreciated, thanks

You need to use the My Files app. It is a file explorer. The app comes preinstalled on the tab.

By default most transfers land in the Downloads folder. As mentioned, use My Files app to browse to that folder and check if they're there. When you connect your camera, I would just use My Files to copy the photos you want directly from the camera to the tablet and then you know the files are transferred properly.

Note that I don't use this method...I transfer photos to my computer for storage and then put images I want to show off to family/friends on my tablet for portability. Some photos are once in a lifetime, so I make sure I have them backed up on the computer (and backup drive and DVD storage) before I copy them to my tablet. But that's just me.
:D

hello, thank you for the responses. My files is where I've been looking and that is where they were copied, so I tried it again, watching very carefully this time! ... after clicking on the copy icon, and then the other one to the left of it, copying starts and takes along time to copy 300 pics and a a couple of movies. a small box flashes briefly when its done saying 'not enough memory', I missed that the last time.
so I tried just copying one pic and the same message appears.
my tab is 16gb... ? I'm looking forward to your comments, I'm now pretty concerned is this too small to store pics?
thanks once again

No it's not too small to store pics...the available memory is about 13gigs when you first fire up the tablet. Since your description of the file transfer is off (paste is to the RIGHT not left of copy) and the memory error, I'd say it's either a procedure issue, or the camera and Tab are not communicating properly.

Try copy and paste when you connect the Tab to your computer.

I think you're right about the camera and the tab not communicating, but the card reader and tab seemed to get along,
my mistake it was the icon to the right of copy ...

I'm travelling in south east asia, where I just bought the galaxy, hence no computer to hook up to, I really wanted to be able to get my pics directly on to the tab... everything goes well until the last moment , perhaps there is a fault, pics from emails have landed in my files sucessfully ... any more thoughts?
thanks very much

I would just use the card reader to copy the files then. It's probably faster than connecting to the camera as it's one less device in the chain. When you connect the camera, it simply provides a connection to the memory card anyway, so perhaps they are issues with the camera protocols.

i'd be happy to just use the card reader but thats where it all goes ok, then throws up the message 'not enough memory' just after its copied and pasted, then it turns out nothing has been saved ... so I dont know where to go from here

sorry the waters may have got muddied there, so just to make things clear ...
the tab does not recognise the camera, so i'll just live with that BUT it does see the card reader.

it copies and pastes the pics , or so it says, it certainly goes through the motions, but I can never find them when its done.
the memory full message was a red herring. the next day I used the camera, the card was full, so the tab was relating what was on the card.
I' ve since formated the card and tried again with a few pics, after the copying and pasting, the message that now comes up is simply 'copied' , but I cant find them anywhere.

another thing I wanted to mention is when I go back to the home page, then remove the card and reader, a pop up says, usb unexpectedly removed, how do I remove it so it doesn't register as 'unexpected'.
I hope that all reads clear, if your still with me ... thank you for your help
