Help Dinc can't change in AC mode

Two different OEM HTC wall adapter/cable combinations known to charge in AC mode both now show up as AC Offline, USB Online (as reported by OS Monitor). This is a pretty recent development, and to my knowledge, no updates have occurred. Is this a sign of a failing battery, charging circuits in the phone, or a software problem (perhaps from an update I am unaware of)?

Any suggestions on how to pursue this would be most welcome, never being able to charge at 1A is going to be a problem.

I did some searching and couldn't find anything in the sea of results, so if I've missed a thread, I apologies, and please send me a reference.

I noticed when looking at OS Monitor, when I plug in the AC adapter it first shows AC online, then switches quickly to USB online. Looking at log messages, it shows the same thing, starting in FAST then switching to USB charging mode.

I'll see if there's a battery I can swap with and check it.
