Disable 3D effect in gallery because of lag

Anyone knows how to disable the 3D effect in Gallery? It just creates more lag and frankly, it doesn't even look good or nice... Completely useless and I think if we should be able to disable it, the Gallery app will run soooo much smoother

You can download a different gallery app, there's no option to turn it off. To me it doesn't lagg at all and actually does look a bit nice. No idea why it laggs for you.

By lagging I mean not being 100% smooth when scrolling through your album collection. Scrolling through pictures is not a problem at all since there is no 3D effect there.

No way you're telling me that scrolling through your album collection is as smooth as scrolling through pictures in an album. If so, please post a video of it ;)
Scrolling though pics seems like 30-40 fps, but scrolling through the albums cannot be more than 15fps.

Scrolling through all the albums is really jittery and it bugs me since I have so many albums, that are randomly placed throughout the gallery (sort by dates gives you folders per date and I do not want this, I want my album names)

It IS a good gallery, if only it wouldn't lag as much in album view because everything else is as smooth as butter. Every other gallery that I've tried is ever more laggy

Well, I can see that you have an amazing collection (HUGE) of photo's. There's your problem, it has to load so many thumbnails that it slows down. You might not have this problem with a different gallery app, which possibly uses less thumbnails.

Just don't be too bothered by it, it's not really an issue now, is it?

Of course not, but I just can't help but thinking how much faster it could be without all that 3D. An option to turn it of seems so little effort to implement so I was hoping for it to be in the 3.2 update, maybe the next...

By the way, all of my pictures are converted to 1600 pixels on the longest side so the size of the pictures cannot be a problem. True I have an enormous amount of pictures on it, but I think that is not really the problem because I saw the small lag also when I didn't have so many pictures

i dont think its the transformers fault... think about it for a second... usually the internal memory read speed of the transofmer will work between 5-10mbps due to system usage... so... lets say you took some 150 and have them in there... if you took those pics with a DSLR, each picture can easily be 1-3 Mb.... if its from a phone, more likely 1.5mb... so the transformer needs to read each file and create thumbnails. i can show about 28 pics on my screen. if i try to read 56mb worth of files to display it, there will be some lag.... gallery will scan for new pics when its opened. i used to have 600+ pics on my HTC EVO and it was also slow... until i didnt care becase i had a class 4 SD card in it and knew that i was asking for too much whenever i wanted to scroll and find one pic between hundreds and it lagged

so yes, i dont think its an issue but more of what the tech limitations.
